CP&R
Proposal for Video Production Services
Thank you for the opportunity to bid on Cohen, Placitella & Roth’s video production project. Enclosed, you will find details covering all facets of our proposed budget, timeframe, creative approach, and technical strategy.
With experience overseeing a range of productions, from Emmy award-winning educational programming for National Geographic to Telly award-recognized commercials, Philamedia is well-equipped to fulfill every creative aspiration envisioned by the team at CP&R.
Introduction
With over a decade of experience under our belts, Philamedia and its team of award-winning filmmakers have served clients across the city, country, and globe. Trusted by businesses like Virtua Health, eBay, and Planet Fitness, we consistently deliver on our promises with transparent budgets.
We possess a unique adaptability whether we’re crafting flashy, big-budget commercials for clients like Penn Medicine, or conducting intimate and sensitive interviews on deeply personal subjects.
Relevant Work
Our key to success in every project lies in our ability to listen to our clients, and translate their needs onto the screen with precision and creativity.
Here you can find two examples of our work. The first is a sample of past work that is similar to this assignment, and the second is a collection of talking head samples- one of the main conventions of the CP&R project.
Letter of Recommendation
“I have worked with several film and media companies in the past, and I found Philamedia far above and beyond their competitors.”
- KAREN ALEXANDER PhD, RN

Our recent collaboration with Friends Research Institute exemplifies the challenge and reward of smaller productions. Tasked with reaching a highly specific demographic—African-American women over 40 caring for loved ones with HIV/AIDS—we worked closely with FRI to breathe life into their well-researched scripts.
Through meticulous planning and collaboration with leading experts, we delivered a product that resonated with this niche demographic. We plan to use the same approach in our work with CP&R.
Our Work with FRI
During the pre-production phase, Philamedia’s creative team will collaborate closely with CP&R to craft a filming approach that stays true to the project's vision, while putting a premium on the firm’s time and resources. For instance, we will start the process by finding a sleek and modern location in Philadelphia that can be set and lit in advance. This will provide an optimum setting for professional interviews while being mindful of the busy schedules of the CP&R team.
Treatment
To provide a contemporary and approachable video resource for each article, Philamedia proposes three engaging elements. First, we will emphasize the CP&R team's extensive knowledge of traumatic brain injuries, drawing from both the articles and personal experiences in navigating complex situations and advocacy. Second, we will collaborate with CP&R and our network of medical professionals to find a medical expert who can discuss the science and long-term effects of traumatic brain injuries. In addition to the interview content, we will design custom graphics and visuals to bring the information to life. Since CP&R’s goal is to have a far reach with this content, we think it would help to to employ a distinguishable visual language similar to the examples shown here- something that can set this content apart from others like it.
For the shoot itself, we'll be using a two-camera setup, including a camera on a slider. This configuration ensures a dynamic range of angles and movement, fostering a sense of intimacy and empathy between the audience and the experts on screen. We believe two cameras is the sweet spot to optimize value, maintain a smooth flow, and allow for maximum flexibility during production and post-production.
Our proposed timeline consists of securing locations by early September, filming principal photography the second week of September, and delivering rough cuts on a rolling basis throughout October. Final deliverables will arrive at the end of October. To accomplish this turnaround, post-production will begin alongside principal photography. Dailies will be transmitted to our offsite editors in real-time.
Deliverables
Up to 14 main videos, approximately 2-5 minutes in length. (We’d suggest the lower end of that. Shorter, denser content is always more potent.)
Two social media cutdowns per main video
Tech Mumbo Jumbo
We shoot on high-spec camera bodies with cinema-grade lenses, and deliver final cuts in 4K resolution or higher (using Sony Fx9, Sony Fx6 or equivalent). Shooting on these bodies and lenses mean the footage will be evergreen, and its high quality will be retained for years to come. We can hand over final deliverables in any format/codec that’s needed. We are also capable (at additional cost) of providing a Blackmagic Camera-to-Cloud uplink if the location’s network connectivity allows.

Have less budget to spend? More wiggle room?
Let us know! We’ll walk through the line items and show you how best to scale up or down the production.
⦿ Standard Production & Post-Production Costs
All of the fundamental necessities from shoot labor to finishing costs are included in this budget. The budget is built around a 3-day shoot.
⦿ Locations Options
We’re prepared to utilize an office that we can rent in Center City, so that our production will not interfere with the day to day business of CP&R. If needed, we can also build a set in one of the professional film studios in the area. As we discuss further, we could identify which is more appropriate. However, we believe filming in a a rented space will be the most appropriate option.
⦿ Social Media Cutdowns
In addition to the main video deliverables, included in the budget is two social media cutdowns per video.
⦻ Out-of-House Rental Gear!
We can save an enormous amount of money by using only equipment that Philamedia has in-house. Besides lensing, we own and maintain everything we’d need to run an efficient, high-spec production.
⦻ Certain Specialty Post-Production Costs
We’ve included our best estimate of animation costs, however, these could change as we get further into a development conversation when the creative scope takes more shape.
⦻ Additional Talent Fees
While we can assist with finding the right experts to be on-camera, their fees are not included in this bid.
Cost Per Minute of Finished Video
On average, commercial video and educational content costs between $1,500-10,000 per minute of finished content. This budget was produced with fourteen 2-5 minute videos in mind. Even on the low end of runtime, the budget maintains a very low per-minute cost at $1,656 per minute.
